Research interests

Poornika Ananth is an Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Bath School of Management. She received her Ph.D. from University College London. Her research focuses on creativity and the dynamic processes through which individuals and groups navigate tensions in creative work, particularly in the context of long-term creative endeavours.

Poornika’s research has been published or is in press in Administrative Science Quarterly and Journal of Management in addition to high profile invited book chapters and handbooks. She has appeared as a guest on BBC Radio London and was an invited speaker at the Industry and Parliament Trust meeting on Designing a Sustainable Creative Sector.

In 2024 she undertook an academic secondment with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), where she is conducted research using a creativity and innovation perspective to inform policy on safer and greener architecture and building design and delivered seminars on the use of qualitative research methods in policymaking.

In addition to research Poornika also enjoys teaching and managing courses on creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, design, and qualitative research methods.
