Research interests

My main research interests are friendship and cross-cultural psychology, as well as emotion perception. In particular, I have focused on how friendship size differs cross-culturally and how this influences the use of contextual information when judging emotions. I am also interested in how friendship is related to wellbeing and shared values.

I am currently a Research Associate on a project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) which examines the effects of shared values on young people's pro-environmental behaviour and hope about the future of the planet. I am a member of the following lab groups at the University of Bath: Critical Research in Social Psychology (CRISP), Social and Cultural Cognition (SCC), and Environment, Transport & Sustainability (EnTS).

I have previously worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant on Beyond School Gates, funded by the Nuffield Foundation and BA, looking at children and community integration using social network analysis.

I have also worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate, funded by the British Academy, looking at cross-group friends and race talk.

I also collaborated on a project looking at parental attitudes towards cultural diversity in schools.
