Dr Paulo Rocha has a Licenciatura degree in Systems and Informatics, a Master degree in Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering and a PhD degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Algarve, Portugal with a scholarship by the Dutch Polymer Institute in Eindhoven, The Netherlands  

Before joining the University of Bath in November 2016, he was a post-doctoral researcher at Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany in the Department of Molecular Electronics. 

Research

Paulo is interested in the electrical characterisation of thin film electronic devices such as field effect transistors, diodes and MIS capacitor structures. His research activities span from Resistive Random Access Memories, degradation of Organic Light Emitting Diodes and Bioelectronics. Currently, his research focus in the interaction between electronic devices and living cells. Specifically on the electrical detection of C6 Glioma cells, Primary Rat Hippocampus Neurons and Diatoms.
