Research interests

Paria has been involved in both academia and industry during recent 20 years. She is a Marie Curie Postdoc Researcher working on "Sustainable water management of urban green spaces for resilience to heatwaves" funded £200,511 by UKRI. She was ranked first out of 10 PhD graduates in Dept. of Water Engineering. Her PhD thesis entitled “Microclimate zoning of Isfahan City under effects of land use/cover to manage water in the urban landscape” was funded $60,000 by Isfahan City Council in 2013. She won a visiting research scholarship to complete her PhD course in School of Natural and Built Environments at Univ. of South Australia, where she gained knowledge on the thermal comfort, extreme heat and UHI. Paria’s PhD thesis was not only ranked as excellent in her department, also selected and awarded as the best research by the peer-reviewed committee for Research and Innovation in Urban Management among more than 1000 research projects in Tehran Municipality Council in 2020. For her first Postdoc, she quantified and modelled urban microclimate conditions across the landscape. Paria was a co-supervisor of a MSc student’s thesis on irrigation management of a 1200 ha urban park. She had an interdisciplinary collaboration with social-ecological sciences scholars for her second postdoc. Moreover, she was a Lecturer in two universities and is serving as a Reviewer of Q1 high-ranked journals.
