Profile

I have been a member of staff at the University of Bath since September 2005, having started in the Department of Sports Development and Recreation and the Department of Education as a Teaching and Coaching Fellow.

Within my current role in the Department for Health as a senior lecturer and former Director of Studies (2014-2017) for the Sports Performance course, I teach units on the Foundation Degree, as well as the BSc in Sports Performance. Additionally I have taught lectures and units on a range of other undergraduate and postgraduate sports related courses at the University of Bath.

My interest in physiology and training practice has led to me working with a number of sports in an applied context, I have previously worked with a number of other sports including:

  • Triathlon
  • High Performance Swimming
  • Water slalom
  • Field athletics (Hammer and Javelin)
  • High Performance Womens Football (Southern Premier League)
  • Judo
  • International Snowboarding
  • Academy Rugby
  • Development Surfing
  • National Level Mountain Biking

I have also been involved in the design and delivery of strength and conditioning coaching workshops for the Talent Southwest Programme. Currently I am working with a performance junior swim programme as well as undertaking research in swimming and triathlon where my PhD studies are focused.

Prior to working for the University, I worked for BUPA for seven years as Regional Trainer / Health Adviser, educating and assessing staff in the delivery of exercise ECG tests with online gas analysis, in combination with a variety of other physiological health and performance related tests.
