Teaching interests

 

I am the Director of Studies for Undergraduates (Years 3, 4 & 5) at the Department of Computer Science.

I mainly teach artificial intelligence and software engineering units.  

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

My office is located in 1 West 3.63. 

Short bio:
I obtained a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (distributed artificial intelligence / multiagent systems) at the Univestity of Southampton in 2013. Following my PhD, I spent a year at Microsoft Research, Cambridge investigating the AI aspect of smart energy systems. I came back to the mothership and as a Senior Researcher at the University of Southampton. I then joined the Machine Learning Research Group at University of Oxford as a Principal Researcher. After Oxford, I have been in a few 'Head of Data Science' roles in industry.

My background is in computer science and artificial intelligence [BSc in Computer Science (2005), MSc in Software Engineering (2007) and PhD in Artificial Intelligence (2013)].

Research interests

My reserach has investigated application of AI to multiagent systems (large scale distributed intelligent systems) with a particular focus on smart energy systems (including smart grids).
