Research interests

Miguel Fialho joined the Department in September 2013. He is Course Director of the MA in Translation with Business Interpreting (MATBI) and teaches on the MA in Interpreting and Translation.

He studied Chinese at Durham University and Interpreting and Translating at the University of Bath.

He taught interpreting at the Sino-EU Senior Interpreter Training Centre at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing for eight years and has been working as a freelance interpreter and translator since 2004.

He is an EU-accredited conference interpreter (Chinese-English) and works for EU institutions and the Portuguese government as a freelance conference interpreter.

Fingerprint Fingerprint is based on mining the text of the person's scientific documents to create an index of weighted terms, which defines the key subjects of each individual researcher.
