Research interests
Michael Stimmelmayr joined the Department of Economics in October 2019 as a Senior Lecturer. Prior to joining the University of Bath, he held post-doctoral positions at the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, and the Center for Economics Studies at LMU Munich, Germany. Michael holds a PhD in Economics (Dr. oec. publ.) from the LMU Munich, Germany. Michael’s research interests are in the field Public Economics, Public Finance, and Applied Microeconomics with focus on
- International Taxation
- Multinational Firm Behaviour
- Corporate Taxation and Corporate Governance
- Innovation and Digital Economy
Teaching interests
I am currently teaching 1st-year Introductory Microeconomics (ES1001). The unit is based on the free online resource The Economy developed by the CORE Team.
Additionally, I am teaching the final year unit Public Choice (ES30038).
Other responsibilities
Currently, I am Director of Reserach at the Department of Economics.
