Research interests

Michael is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in International Development in the Department of Social and Policy Sciences at the University of Bath. He is a Research Associate at the Oxford Department of International Development and a Senior Research Fellow at the Earth System Governance Project.

His research focuses on global environmental politics and the politics of global supply chains.

He consults on the environmental management of extractive industries in both developing and developed countries.

Prior to his current position, Michael was Departmental Lecturer in Global Governance at the University of Oxford. He has also taught at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he completed his PhD in International Relations.
