Research interests

Mary's research interests encompass all aspects of structural chemistry which involve X-ray Crystallography. In particular, she is interested supramolecular architectures which involve either covalent or non-covalent interactions in lattice arrays.

For example, some recent structural studies in collaboration with the Burrows group have shown that reactions between azo-dyes and guanidinium salts can lead to very different supramolecular achitectures, depending on the substitution within the guanidinium cation.
