Personal profile

Research interests

I am Director of Studies for the MA Education with over 20 years of experience designing, validating and running programmes of study, both undergraduate and postgraduate, at UK universities.

With a background in Linguistics and Language Teaching, from early on in my career, I developed a strong interest and expertise in Digital Pedagogy and Technology Enhanced Learning. For the last decade I have been examining the use of virtual world environments and virtual reality tools for education, particularly the use of simulation and immersive environments to develop communities of practice. I design unique learning experiences and innovative solutions to some of the challenges encountered in traditional educational practices.
