I am the Director of Practice Based Learning for the MPharm undergraduate course and Head of Pharmacy Practice. I'm responsible for the design and delivery of the practice based elements of the programme and also the development of competence in patient facing skills throughout the course. I liaise closely with employers and our placement providers and also with our regional partners at Health Education England. I am very interested in the education approaches to support teaching and learning in pharmacy education.
I was previously the programme lead for the Independent Prescribing programme and have also held the post of programme lead for the Clinical Pharmacy PG diploma course at Bath.
I am passionate about developing the skills needed for pharmacists to practice at both foundation and advanced levels. I am keen to develop tools to help support practice based learning and assessment. I am keen to explore the continued use of simulation and augmented reality in clinical teaching. My other areas of interests include using technology to support learning, assessment of practical and clinical decision making, the development of consultation and prescribing skills in our students and factors affecting the pharmacy workforce.
