My research interests lie in higher education policy, globalisation and internationalisation of higher education, university rankings and their impact on policymaking and institutional behaviour, higher education in Europe and European Union policymaking. My research has been published in academic journals including Contemporary Social Science, Higher Education and Tertiary Education and Management and publicised in media outlets such as the BBC, the Guardian, University World News, and Times Higher Education. I am also a Research Centre Associate of the Department of Education at the University of Oxford (Centre for Global Higher Education - CGHE) and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Innovations in Education and Teaching International. 

Before joining Bath, I was Senior Research Associate at the UCL Institute of Education (CGHE) and have worked in both the public and private sectors for the European Commission in Brussels and Quacquarelli Symonds in London, where I am currently serving as Secretary to the QS Global Rankings Advisory Board. I have held academic positions at the University of Glasgow, Trinity College Dublin and the College of Europe. I am an invited Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. 

I am interested in supervising students on the DBA in Higher Education Management in topics related to higher education policy, globalisation and internationalisation of higher education, student mobility, the entrepreneurial university and the building of a European higher education area.
