Personal profile

Research interests

I am a PhD researcher in the Department of Education at the University of Bath. My research interests are in applied linguistics, digital language learning, and social media studies. My PhD research explores how Chinese female English learners use multimodal resources on Xiaohongshu (Rednote) to construct meaning, negotiate identities, and participate in online learning communities. More broadly, I examine the role of platform affordances, gendered digital spaces, and social ideologies in shaping language learning practices and experiences in contemporary online environments.
