Research interests

I am a doctoral researcher exploring transformation, regenerative agriculture and the social, psychological and ecological dimensions of change. My PhD examines why processes of transformation often begin but then stall, using the messy boundary between conventional and regenerative agriculture as a key site of enquiry. I am particularly interested in how shifts in land management are entangled with questions of identity, meaning, loss and future orientation.

I bring an interdisciplinary perspective to these questions, shaped by experience across academic research, strategy, brands and agriculture. My work often moves across boundaries: between academic and applied research, ecological and commercial systems, and the practical concerns of farmers, organisations and consumers. Alongside my doctoral research, I run a strategy and research consultancy, working with organisations to make sense of complex change in consumer landscapes, identify openings for change and translate research into practical strategy. I have also contributed to teaching on the MSc Sustainability and Management programme.

My wider research interests include agrarian futures, socio-ecological transformation, systems change and the relationship between the margins and the mainstream in societal change. Through my work, I seek to develop more grounded accounts of transformation that take seriously both ecological limits and the human experience of uncertainty, loss and change.
