Research interests

Juan J. Soler joined the University of Bath in 2023, having previously worked at the University of Bristol, King's College London, The University of Manchester, and Sheffield Hallam University.

He gained his BA in Translation and Interpreting from Universidad de Málaga, followed by a postgraduate teaching certificate (CAP) from Universidad de Sevilla, and finally obtaining his MA in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from Universidad Pablo de Olavide. He is also a qualified DELE Examiner (A1-C2) by Instituto Cervantes.

He lectures on the Spanish business environment together with historical, political, and cultural topics of contemporary Spain. 

In January 2021, he started a virtual international tandem programme in collaboration with two Spanish universities and two language schools, aiming to minimise the effects of COVID-19 in his students' learning.
