Teaching interests

Much of my current academic effort is devoted to writing books. My textbook "The Science of Stem Cells" is intended to provide the necessary background of cell and developmental biology to understand stem cell biology. My popular books of the Oxford Very Short Introduction series, on "Stem Cells" and on "Genes" provide an outline treatment of the subject. My large textbook, "Essential Developmental Biology" covers all the main aspects of the developmental biology of animals.
