PhD
I am currently working towards my PhD affiliated with the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies. The aim is to develop a personal air filtration system which protects civilians from both heat and asphyxiant gases produced in the event of building fires. Such a device is likely to be a monolithic structure to minimise breathing burden and overall weight. However, the device must also contain components to absorb heat and adsorb and chemically react with the harmful gases. The project will be predominently computational, focused on optimising the filter design, promoting improvements in heat absorption, adsorption and reaction.
