Research interests
My research is focused on the fundamental physics of unconventional supeconductors. Recently I have been working on the unusual material EuFe2(As1-xPx)2 - an iron-based superconductor that exhibits simultaneous superconductivity and ferromagnetism over a wide temperature range. The combination of these two magnetic orders is quite rare due to their normally antagonistic effects on one another. Surprisingly, we have observed unsual behaviour concerning magnetic flux vortices and their interaction with the ferromagnetic domain structure that leads to enhanced flux pinning properties. This effect could have important consequences for the development of future high-current capacity superconducting tapes used in industrial applications.
