Personal profile

Research interests

In my role as Technical Manager of the Centre for Power Transmission and Motion Control I assist colleagues in their research and cooperate with industrial partners on state of the art consultancy projects. My interests include efficient hydraulic systems, permanent-magnet electrical drives and applied control theory. I combine simulation (Matlab/Simulink and Amesim) with experimental work to cooperate with colleagues and industry to realise such projects.

Teaching interests

I oversee the short courses for industry offered by the Centre for Power Transmission and Motion Control, ranging from introductory to advanced fluid power courses as well as control theory and electrical drives. In cooperation with my colleagues, I develop material and organise regular as well as bespoke courses.

For undergratuate teaching, I am available to supervise group and individual projects within Mechanical Engineer as well as Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
