Personal profile

Research interests

I completed my PhD thesis entitled "Motivation to learn English of Polish pupils" in 2015 at Lancaster University. Prior to that, I graduated from MA in Language Studies at Lancaster University and obtained my first degree in English Language and Literature, teaching specialisation, at Tarnow State College. My research interests centre around language learning motivation. In particular, I am interested in the role that contextual factors and gender play in shaping motivation of language learners

Prior to joining Bath University in September 2015, I had worked as a tutor at Lancaster University, teaching courses at MA TESOL (SLA, Research Methods in a Foreign Language Classroom) and at an undergraduate level (Introduction to Linguistics, Language in Education, Language Acquisition and Origin). Apart from teaching content matter, I have also been involved in teaching English as a foreign language and teaching EAP courses.
