Research interests

Iona is a researcher in the Tobacco Control Research Group at the University of Bath. Her research interests include commercial determinants of health and the cultural construction of meaning. Her current work examines how commercial organisations can influence public understandings of health, harm and science. She is passionate about interdisciplinary research and has carried out research in a variety of areas, notably social media research, place-making in online contexts and consumer research.

Iona offers training in qualitative methods and is a member of the Biomedical Ethics Committee at the University of Bath.
