Research interests

My research interest are in applied statistics, specifically I have worked extensively on the estimation of the frequency of extreme events, in particular hydro-meteorological extremes like storms and floods.

Another area of interest is the use of non-parametric regression techniques, in particular Generalised Additive Models and their extensions.

I strive to develop statistical methods which can be applied and used by practitioners in other fields to solve complex and challenging problems: this means I am keen to interact with potential end-users and different stakeholders.

Fingerprint Fingerprint is based on mining the text of the person's scientific documents to create an index of weighted terms, which defines the key subjects of each individual researcher.
