My current research area is focused on the bioprocessing of the oleaginous yeast Metschnikowia pulcherrima, exploring the processing parameters and expanding the product suite which will be scaled-up using Biochemical Engineering techniques. My research interest lies in the engineering and scale up/down of fermentation processes and bioprocessing of algal cultures in order to facilitate rapid design and optimization. This formed the basis of her PhD thesis; Fermentation (algae systems and yeast) and Ultra Scale-Down technologies.
