Personal profile
Research interests
I am a teaching Fellow in Education, teaching a variety of education modules on the BA (Hons) Education with Psychology programme. In addition I co-ordinate and teach Generally Available Units. Before my arrival at Bath in the late 1990s I was teaching in a variety of settings, including secondary settings in the UK and Europe, as well as West Africa.
I contribute to the MA Education programme, supporting Distance Learners, and teach on the Summer School for the programme.
I am also the Placement Tutor for the Education with Psychology programme, supporting students in securing a placement appropriate to the course of study and their personal interests. As an experienced practitioner I am able to help students develop reflective practices about their placement work, read and respond to their submissions containing placement objectives. I visit our students in their settings - ranging from Special Educational Needs settings to Education Charity workplaces, or Research settings, facilitating dialogue with professional providers, and supporting constructive personal and professional development.
I am continually interested in researching factors which support or impede effective learning.
