Fariba Alamgir's research focuses on conflict over resources, local politics, dynamics of authority and state formation. She has interest in research on how people's struggles over resource rights and entitlements relate to identity politics. She has worked on environmental diasaster, climate change and health security issues focusing on understanding vulnerability and resilience of rural population while being employed as a researcher at various research organisations in Bangladesh. Her current project addresses questions of conflict, displacement and ctizenship by focusing on the experience of the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
