Research Interests

My research interests are dealing with the interaction of light with condensed matter. In particular how we can use laser spectroscopy to understand and describe fundamental excitations such as excitons, plasmons, polarons and phonons in molecular solids and nanostructures. We focus on material systems with applications in optoelectronics using a variety of experimental techniques going from single molecule spectroscopy to non-linear optical techniques in the femtosecond time regime. This blue sky research is complemented by scientific collaborations with research groups and companies looking at applications with state-of-the-art performances in solar energy conversion, sensing and information technology.
