Personal profile

Research interests

TRUE (Through Rural Eyes) is a British Academy-funded seed project that lays the foundation for an international research programme exploring how children learn, develop, and thrive in contexts of rapid technological and social change. Through participatory research with children, families, and educators in rural communities, TRUE examines how artificial intelligence is experienced in everyday life and investigates the conditions that enable children to learn, belong, and flourish. The project is generating the evidence, partnerships, and participatory methodologies needed to inform more equitable approaches to education, digital inclusion, and childhood policy across diverse cultural contexts.

Teaching interests

As an educator, I am committed to preparing future teachers, educational leaders, and researchers to engage critically with the opportunities and challenges that emerging technologies present for education. My teaching goes beyond the use of technology, encouraging students to examine its implications for children's learning, development, inclusion, wellbeing, and equity.

I teach across the BA (Hons) Education with Psychology, MA Education, and Doctor of Education (EdD) programmes at the University of Bath. I also supervise undergraduate, master's, and doctoral research projects in areas including children's learning and development, artificial intelligence in education, digital inclusion, educational inequalities, and participatory research.
