Profile

I am employed by the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology as a community pharmacy teacher practitioner, so due to my background, my teaching responsibilities are centred around community pharmacy units.

I am the convenor of the second year pharmacy practice unit which covers an introduction to dispensing, responding to symptoms, legislation, clinical governance and communication skills. I also deliver material on other units where a community pharmacy input is needed.

Background

In addition to my role at the University of Bath, I am also employed by Dudley Taylor Pharmacy LTD, an independent pharmacy group. I have been employed by them since 2008 as a job share pharmacy manager.

My current practice base is within a small rural town on the high street, so my role is driven heavily by service provision to the local community. This gives me a great sense of job satisfaction, due to the clinical roles I am involved in.

I have been employed in the past as a practice support pharmacist based within a health centre. In the future, I hope to train as an independent pharmacist prescriber in order to further enhance my clinical role.
