Research interests

Dr Jacobs primary area of research is in emerging technologies for medical education. There are varied immersive technologies and these interface with AI. Clinical education is broad in the disciplines studied and this gives opportunity for technology to support learners. The research focuses on HCI, user experience (UX), and efficacy of training. This has included work on AI for medical communication skills training and VR for identifying and managing sepsis. 

Dr Jacobs is a practicing GP and lead to undergraduate medical education research at Great Western Hospital Foundation Trust
