Research interests

My main interests centre on leadership and management in education, social justice, international contexts in education and developing staff for institutional effectiveness. Prior to my role in HE I worked in secondary education for 30 years including seven as head teacher of a school in challenging circumstances.  Previoulsy I worked at the School of Education, University of Leeds teaching on postgraduate courses in International Education & Management and two part-time MAs targeted at teachers focusing on educational and professional enquiry in their own school contexts.

I completed my Doctor of Education (EdD) at the University of Leeds.  My research focused on an exploration of the key influences and critical experiences that shape educational leaders' awareness, understanding and practice of social justice in Nepalese schools.
