Personal profile
Research interests
My current research interests focus: microplastic removal in water sources, catalyst design and reactor engineering.
Microplastic removal in water sources: coupling photocatalysis and membrane technology to remove microplastic in water.
Catalyst design: the development of new hybrid photo-electrocatalysts that can be applied in environmental processes as artificial photosynthesis.
Through controlling the transfer of electrons and protons to the catalyst and understanding the mechanisms that govern reaction selectivity and conversion, my goal is to identify the characteristics of a new generation of photo-electrocatalysts that offer superior performance in carbon dioxide reduction to produce solar fuels.
Reactor engineering: the design of microreactors for photocatalysis. My research objective is to develop and manufacture flow reactors for artificial photosynthesis by mimicking natural designs.
Willing to supervise doctoral students
I welcome students with a Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering background or similar. In particular those keen on applying catalysis and reaction engineering ideas in green processes.
