Having completed a PhD in sociology and social policy at the University of Durham I recently joined the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences as a lecturer in the Department for Health. My research interests centre on the deployment of a broad range of qualitative methodologies to investigate issues connected with human interaction and organisational culture, surveillance and social control within the urban environment and tangible/intangible cultural heritage. My work has been funded by the Jiangsu Provincial Government (PR, China); The British Council and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
