Personal profile

Research interests

As a researcher, I am interested in expanding understandings of moving bodies in contemporary times. I engage theoretical frameworks of new materialisms and the philosophy of posthumanism to design projects that embrace creative and exploratory research practices. Areas of interest include new materialisms, posthumanism, ageing, digital health, wellbeing, movement practices (e.g., dance, yoga), climate change, and adventure sport (e.g., snowboarding, surfing, mountain biking).

As a scholar with varied international experiences living and researching in Canada, New Zealand, and the UK, my processes are continually evolving while responding to troubles (and possibilities) in our complex, increasingly digitally-mediated worlds. I am currently involved in a number of multi-disciplinary projects that connect international scholars on the topics of dance and ageing, intergenerational ecoactivism, sport retirement, outdoor recreation and climate change.
