Research interests

I hold a PhD in Sociology from University College Dublin and Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne. Before coming to Bath, I was a Research Associate at the Centre for Global Higher Education, University College London Institute of Education. Previously I held the National University of Ireland Dr Garret FitzGerald Fellowship in the Social Sciences and lectured in France and in Ireland.

My research interests include:

  • Elite education
  • Globalisation, internationalisation and education
  • International student mobility
  • Academic precarity and academic mobility.

 

Teaching interests

I teach in the area of sociology of education, educational inequalities and globalisation, internationalisation and education, research methods.

Other responsibilities

I am currently the Equality and Diversity representative for the Department of Education.

Willing to supervise doctoral students

I am interested in supervising new EdD and PhD students researching topics related to my areas of interest.
