Accepting Doctoral Students

Personal profile

Research interests

My research focuses on improving the implementation and scale-up of health and social care interventions in practice.

My current work investigates the influence of external contextual factors on the implementation and scale-up of interventions, such as the policy context, the physical environment, or the cultural and socio-economic background of populations.

I am also exploring the role of adaptation of interventions that scale across different contexts and how particular implementation strategies and evaluation methods can support the scale-up process.

I work in the UK, Europe, and in low- and middle-income countries, particularly in South Africa.

My background is in implementation science, public health, health services research, and health geography.

Teaching interests

I am primarily teaching on the MSc Global Public Health and Policy.

My teaching focuses on health services and systems, implementation and scale-up of policies and interventions, systems thinking, and research and evaluation methods (primarily qualitative and mixed methods).

I am supervising UG and PG dissertations in social policy, international development, and global public health and policy.

Willing to supervise doctoral students

I would be looking to supervise doctoral student projects in the area of implementation science.

Please note that I can only accept a limited number doctoral students and only in the capacity of second supervisor at the moment.
