The Centre for Photonics brings together experimental, theoretical, and computational expertise in the study of light and its applications. It comprises around 40 academics, postdoctoral researchers, and PhD students working in a highly interactive and collaborative environment. Research spans fibre photonics, nanophotonics, biophotonics, optical communications, quantum processing and communication, and photonic sources.
Work is supported by an on‑site Fibre Fabrication facility and extensive laboratories. By combining the expertise of its members, the Centre fosters excellence, enables cutting‑edge research and innovation, and enhances the visibility and impact of its world‑class photonics activities.
