Organisation profile

This multi-disciplinary centre is focused on solving the practical challenges of health and social care systems. It leads and explores applied health research projects using a mixed methods approach while adopting a flexible and collaborative outlook to the choice and framing of the research problems and to the research methods and modelling techniques used.

Members of the Centre work closely with health and social care managers and professionals drawing on a wide range of research expertise including:

  • operational research/management science
  • operations management
  • analytics
  • information systems.
  • other quantitative and qualitative research methods and models
  • experience from different industries

With the School and the University’s current activity and existing strengths in this area, working in close partnership with healthcare professionals on real problems, the Centre is in a unique position to make a substantial and impactful contribution not only to academia but also to practice.

If you want to engage with the Centre and its academics in a research or consultancy project, we encourage you to contact the director Professor Christos Vasilakis.
