The dataset documents experiments examining the interaction between whispering gallery mode (WGM) microlasers and non-phagocytic mammalian cells, with particular emphasis on controlled delivery using optical trapping and real-time observation of the cellular uptake process.
It includes time-resolved spectral data acquired from individual microlasers during their interaction with cells. In some cases, these spectra have been analysed using Voigt function fitting to quantify features such as linewidth broadening and mode splitting, which are indicative of changes in the local optical environment.
The dataset also contains high-resolution microscopy imaging data corresponding to the experiments. These images provide visual context for the spectral measurements, showing microlaser positioning, contact with the cell membrane, and stages of internalization.
In addition, the dataset provides derived data obtained through fitting the spectral measurements to an optical model described in the associated work. This analysis yields estimates of the external refractive index surrounding the microlasers.
