Dataset for "Exercise prevents seasonal decline in vitamin D metabolites in people with overweight and obesity"

Data from 41 participants who completed a randomised control trial of either 10-weeks of exercise whilst remaining weight stable, or 10-weeks lifestyle maintenance, over the winter. Data are participant sex, age, height, body mass, body mass index, percentage body fat, fat mass index, total fat mass, fat free mass, tibial bone mineral density, calf muscle cross-sectional area and density, physical activity level, Fitzpatrick skin phototype score, serum total 25(OH)D, 25OHD3, 25OHD2, 1,25(OH)2D3, 24,25(OH)2D3, 3-Epi-25OHD3, Vitamin D3, d3-25OHD3 half-life, adipose 25OHD3 and D3, RNA gene expression for genes related to vitamin D metabolism that are expressed in adipose, serum vitamin D binding protein, plasma intact parathyroid hormone, plasma albumin, serum total calcium, aspartate transferase, alanine transaminase, serum interleukin-6, serum C-reactive protein, serum insulin, serum glucose, serum leptin, serum triglyceride, serum non-esterified fatty acids, serum low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, maximal rate of oxygen uptake, maximal rate of fat oxidation, daily vitamin D intake, physical activity level, total daily energy expenditure, daily sedentary time and daily moderate to vigorous activity time. All measures were taken at baseline and post-intervention.
