Data for Multipath Propagation of Low Frequency Radio Waves Inferred from High Resolution Array Analysis

Dataset

Description

The low-frequency radio sky shows the locations of electromagnetic radio sources with a characteristic dilution of precision. This dataset relates to a thorough high-resolution analysis of radio waves from low-frequency (∼20–150 kHz) radio communication transmitters which are recorded with a small aperture array of radio receivers during the day. It comprises data relating to the observed and simulated scatter of wave numbers, the scatter of observed wave numbers after correction with the impulse response of the array, the relative maxima and minima of the observed apparent frequency, the observed scatter of the segmented wave numbers after correction with the impulse response, and the observed distribution functions of the segmented electric field strengths. These data are visualised in Figure 1 of the associated paper, "Multipath propagation of low-frequency radio waves inferred from high-resolution array analysis".
