Description
I was invited by the British Council to give a talk on my research.This seminar was jointly hosted by the Taiwan Ministry of Education and Department of International Trade. The aim of the event was to showcase UK expertise which could potentially support their Bilingual 2030 initiative and position the UK as partner of choice for research and consultancy in language education. The Bilingual 2030 initiative has attracted a mixed response from the press and the academic community. The British Council’s role so far has been to try and influence the Ministry’s approach and goals and encourage them to pursue policies and practice which support institutions, teachers and learners.
