Rethinking Digital Product Design: Designing Technology that serves society

Activity: Public, Community and School EngagementPublic talk, lecture, debate, seminar, workshop

Description

This presentation was delivered as part of the Google Women Techmakers International Women's Day 2025 event.
I explored the need to "Redefine Possible" in digital product design. Drawing on insights from academic research and practical experience as a consultant in Product and Service Design, I discussed design principles for balancing automation with human oversight, accounting for unintended consequences, and designing adaptable systems that align with long-term human values.

This talk explored how digital product and service design can be reimagined through a human-centred lens, challenging assumptions and highlighting the profound influence of design decisions on human behaviour and societal systems.
