Special Issue title: Research Methods and Generative Artificial Intelligence in Applied Linguistics

This Special Issue of Research Methods in Applied Linguistics (RMAL) explores the innovative and ethical use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools in applied linguistics research methodologies. Specifically, this issue examines the diverse possible applications of GenAI in research approaches focusing on how these tools may enhance the processes of research practice, dissemination, and impact. More crucially, it will address the ethical concerns raised by the deployment of GenAI in academic settings, probing into the complexities and implications of its usage in research and pedagogy.
