Description

Invited keynote delivered at the 8th International Conference on Education and Social Science Research, ICESRE 2025, in Indonesia. The presentation examined the relationship between generative artificial intelligence, AI literacy, educational equity, and access to learning opportunities in English Medium Instruction contexts. It considered how AI may support innovation and participation in higher education while also reproducing existing linguistic, digital, and socioeconomic inequalities. The keynote highlighted the need for context-sensitive policy, inclusive pedagogy, and critical AI literacy to ensure that technological change contributes to more equitable educational outcomes.
