Description
Hosted a research visit by Dr Rob Finn (EMBL-EBI, UK), involving in-depth research discussions with collaborators on two ongoing projects: “Massive Expansion of Carbohydrate-Active Enzymes from the Microbial Universe” and “PhageProfiler: Language Model-Driven Viral Discovery, Classification and Annotation”.
The visit coincided with a research visit by Jinzheng Ren (Australian National University), a major contributor to both projects, and provided an intensive collaborative setting for joint discussion. The visit was instrumental in refining the conceptual framing and scientific scope of both studies, leading to substantial improvements in manuscript structure and positioning, and informing the development of revised research directions entitled “Defining protein embedding resolution enables biological organisation and discovery” and “Exploring the mobile genetic element continuum with PhageProfiler”.
