Description

I am the Linguistics section Editor for Elsevier’s cross-disciplinary data journal, Data in Brief (DIB). This journal is linked to the Applied Linguistics journal System.

At the article revision stage, authors will be given the option to convert some of their supplementary data into a data article which gets published in DIB. This gives authors the chance to publish a second peer-reviewed article, linked to the first, to increase discoverability of the supplementary data, which would otherwise sit at the end of their research paper. The data article in DIB and the research article in System will cite each other and directly link to each other, making the data article easy to find and cite. Authors may also submit articles directly to Data in Brief, which are not associated with any other paper.

DIB is an Open Access journal which provides a way for researchers to publish their datasets and share them with other academics, with the ultimate aim of promoting promote discoverability, reproducibility and collaboration.
