The conference seeks to foster discussions on cutting-edge research in social and sustainable finance, addressing the role of financial systems in tackling societal and environmental challenges.We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
The role of financial instruments and markets in promoting environmental sustainability and social equity.
Modelling and managing risks, including climate and social risks, in financial decision-making.
Macroeconomic and policy dimensions of sustainable finance, including fiscal, monetary, and regulatory frameworks.
Innovations in finance to address global challenges, such as climate resilience and financial inclusion.
Submissions that adopt interdisciplinary approaches, introduce innovative methodologies, or emphasize practical applications are particularly encouraged.
The conference will serve as a platform to advance understanding of the complex interactions between finance, social equity, and environmental sustainability. By fostering dialogue between academics, policymakers, and practitioners, it aims to generate actionable insights and promote active collaboration.
The keynote speakers are George Kapetanios (King’s College London) and Steven Ongena (University of Zurich).
The conference organisers are Stylianos Asimakopoulos (Brunel University of London), Manthos Delis (Audencia Business School) and Vasilis Sarafidis, Brunel University of London.
Papers presented at the conference will be considered for a Special Issue of the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking (JMCB), with the Editor being Luc Laeven (ECB). Submission fees to JMCB will be waived for invited papers.
