British Council Widening Participation & English Language Teaching Research Awards (ELTRA) seminar

Description

Once the British Council finalised the recipients of their Widening Participation grants and ELTRAs – they had eleven research projects in total funded by the Official Development Assistance (ODA) grant.

There is some overlap, in terms of both project content and geographical context, between many of the projects, so the aim of this seminar was to help put us in touch with other researchers who may be working in similar areas and/or countries.

This seminar was for the Principal Investigators of these projects, as well as the British Council team.

The agenda for the seminar was:

1. Introduction to British Council team & PIs for WP projects and ELTRAs
2. Summary of WP Research scheme & ELTRAs
3. Brief summary of each of the eleven projects (5 mins each)
4. Overlaps between projects – thematic and by country
5. Overlap with British Council projects and possible British Council contacts in countries/regions
6. Reminder of contract deadline & wrap-up
