Arte, memoria y genealogías antifascistas: una conversación sobre Maybe Never Again

Activity: Public, Community and School EngagementPublic talk, lecture, debate, seminar, workshop

Description

This seminar brings together artist Espe Pons and scholar Jorge Marco for a dialogue on Maybe Never Again, Pons’s recent photobook dedicated to the lives of international antifascist women who participated in the Spanish Civil War. The conversation examines the intersections between artistic practice, archival research, and the construction of historical memory, exploring how visual methodologies can recover and recontextualize marginalized narratives. By situating these women within broader transnational histories of antifascism, the seminar reflects on the role of art as a critical tool for illuminating silenced pasts and expanding contemporary understandings of resistance, antifascism, gender, and political struggle.
